Clinical Trials

Clinical Research

Clinical research plays a very important role in our organization. Our dedicated research team works in partnership with the pharmaceutical industry to find new treatments for dermatological diseases.

To date, we have experience in conducting clinical trials with the following diseases: acne, atopic dermatitis, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, discoid lupus, erythematosus, venous leg ulcers, hidradenitis suppurativa, pemphigus vulgaris and psoriasis.

Clinical Trials

Is a Clinical Trial Right For Me?

Before embarking on a clinical trial there are some important considerations that you need to explore, to ensure that you make the right choice. Participating in a clinical trial does not come without some risks. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the risks and benefits of participating in a trial, by talking to your doctor, our research staff, and others who have participated in clinical trials. We also advise that you discuss this with your partner, family members, and others with whom you share close relationships. You will benefit from their emotional and practical support if they have a good understanding of your treatment regime and the associated implications.

The Risks

• Experimental treatments do not guarantee effectiveness. The medication may cause unpleasant side effects, which you need to be aware of, in view of the fact that you will have to manage these within your daily living.

The Benefits

You will benefit from gaining access to medications that are not as yet FDA approved. As well as receiving care from your dermatologist, you will also be looked after by an experienced team of research staff. This extended team will ensure that you will receive regular and comprehensive medical and emotional care while you participate in a trial.Your participation in a trial means invaluable support for the development of a cure for your disease.
